CA Technologies pivoted from enterprise software to the consumer market in 2008, launching an Internet Security division to bring enterprise-grade protection to the masses. Distributed through retail and partner channels, the division grew to protect millions of users worldwide before its successful spin-off as Total Defense in 2011.
